TAPE & FLOAT
Taping and floating are an essential step in home construction and the key to properly finishing drywall once it’s installed. The process involves applying tape over the seams where drywall panels meet, then covering that tape with a smooth layer of joint compound often called drywall mud. This technique hides the joints, creates a seamless, finished surface, and reinforces the seams to prevent cracking once the wall is painted or textured.
